It Could Be One Of Those Days

How important is your mobile phone? My SIM became defective on Monday night and its still not been replaced (thanks EE – but thats another story). Anyway, trying to arrange an under 11s game and a second team game with no mobile is a bit of a nightmare. And this is a week when we have had cry offs too. And what about teas? Anyway, the good old landline came into action so we should be ok. Fid might be a bit late, but whats new? Harry Potter is on ground duty, and we might need his magic during the game too as we have six juniors once again. Having said that, five of those juniors starred for the under 17s in the marvellous cup win against Hayfield on Thursday night and confidence is high, with the new Friday night training regime paying immediate dividends!

And speaking of juniors, the practice was well attended again last night, with a few helpers easing the workload of the managers / coaches. Lets hope it continues throughout the summer.

And it looks like we finally do have a summer! Warm temperatures today – winning the toss is essential. Dont want to be chasing leather for 45 overs in this heat – and our opening bowler will be late!

Whatever happens, the under 11s host New Mills tomorrow – and bacon and sausages will once more be on the agenda.
