Although both teams lost against New Mills yesterday there were definite positives. The first scored almost 250 runs, and this game could finally see the emergence of Sam Slack as a first team player. The seconds could have had a disastrous day, but with the captain asking for 5 points we actually managed 6, a success in anyone’s book.
Scholesy narrowly avoided disaster at Tommo’s as he set fire to the grill, but there could be trouble brewing at selection.
We have received a number of photos from the seconds game at Hazel Grove, a game that was played in such a friendly spirit that their sub fielder took a good catch to dismiss one of their better batsmen.
I sometimes wonder if we got a bit nastier would we win more games, but then I look at certain other teams in the league and, well, what do you think?
Incidentally – its my 50th in October, and there is an open house on 1st from 6pm. All welcome.
